Faith of Hulla Gulla – January 6, 2011
How many Muslim countries organize milaad? Is it approved by Qur’an and sunnah or Khulafa-e-Rashideen? Or is it just another hulla-gulla event like other South Asian rituals? How would educated-famous-honoured-influential-intellectuals justify their support for unnecessary, maulvi-based festivals or rituals in the name of religion? Do they know that their useless and unnecessary sympathies cause their fans and common people to divert from the real rights and obligations?
This is what our educated women have been asking God at the end of milaad for last 40/50 years. O God! we don’t want money and wealth fromYou, just fulfill some of our desires, grant us the treasure of ‘feelings of pain’ and mercy and kindness, rise among us somebody like Abu-Bakr or Uthman or the symbol of justice like Umar or Qasim or Tariq or Ali-ibn Abi Talib. O God! it is unbearable to watch this destruction of Ummah, give freedom to Aqsa, we still believe in Your Qur’an and we are proud that Your house is our center or direction. Your oppressed slaves are begging You, please have mercy and respond to their prayers.
Hello Muslim women, is this really what we want from our God?
نہیں خواہش ہمیں یارب کہ ہم کو دولت وزر دے, مگر کچھہ آرزوئیں ہیں انھیں تکمیل تو کردے, متائے درد کی دولت ملے ہر اک مسلماں کو, رہے انسانیت کا پاس بھی ہر ایک انساں کو, کوئی صدیق پیدا کر کوئی عثمان پیدا کر, عمر سا پھر کوئی عادل عظیم الشان پیدا کر, کوئی قاسم عطا کردے کوئی طارق عطا کردے, مسلمانوں میں پیدا پھر کوئی شیرخداکردے, نہیں اب دیکھی جاتی تیری امت کی یہ بربادی, خدایا پھر عطا کر مسجد اقصی کو آزادی, تیرے قرآں پہ یارب اب تلک ایماں ہماراہے, ہے ہم کو ناز تیراگھر وہی قبلہ ہمارا ہے, تیرے مجبور بندے آج تیرے در پہ آئے ہیں, کرم فرما میرے معبود ان کی جھولیاں بھردے۔۔۔۔۔
یہ اس بہت لمبی دعا کے چند اشعار ہیں جو پچھلے چالیس بیالیس سال سے ہر میلاد کے آخر میں خواتین لہک لہک کرپڑھتی ہیں… حاضر خواتین میں سے جو شوہراور سسرال کی ستائی ہوتی ہیں وہ بلک بلک کر روتی ہیں۔۔۔ کچھہ کا دل واقعی مسلمانوں کے حالات پر تڑپ رہا ہوتا ہے توانکی آنکھوں سے بھی آنسو نکل آتے ہیں۔۔۔
نبی صلی الله علیہ وسلم اور خلفاء راشدین کے زمانے سے تو میلاد جیسی کوئی محفل ثابت نہیں ہوتی۔۔۔ لہذا یہ سنت نہیں۔۔۔اورجس محفل کو سجانے کی اس زمانے میں ضرورت محسوس نہیں کی گئی اسکا اس زمانے میں کیاجواز۔۔۔ جبکہ مسلمہ حقیقت یہ ہے کہ میلاد سے نہ آج تک کسی کا ایمان بڑھا, نہ بری عادتیں چھوٹیں, نہ ہی غیر مسلم اس سے متاثر ہو کراسلام لائے… دوسری بات کہ جس محفل کو لوٹ مار, جھوٹ, رشوت, ذخیرہ اندوزی اور دھوکے کی کمائی سے منعقد کیا گیا ہو جو محفل بد نظمی کی انتہاؤں پرہو ۔۔۔ جہاں حاضرین ایک کے بجائے دو تین حصے حاصل کرنے کے لئےاپنے رشتہ داروں یا دوستوں سے جھوٹ بولیں۔۔۔ میلاد کے بعد جنکے گھروں میں انڈین چینلز چلتے ہوں۔۔۔ وہاں رسول کی سواری تشریف لائے۔۔۔ اتنا گرا ہواتو نہیں رسول کامعیار… اور یہ آئیڈیا کچھہ کچھہ سینٹا کلوز کی سواری سے ملتاجلتا لگتاہے۔۔۔
عوام تو خیر عام ہوتی ہے خاص نہیں۔۔۔ بے مقصد زندگی سے خوش اور بے مقصد موت پر مطمئن ہوتے ہیں۔۔۔ حیوانات ونباتات کی طرح تقدیر کے پابند۔۔۔ چاہے کوئی بنادے چاہے کوئی مٹادے۔۔۔ نہ انکی اپنی کوئی رائے ہوتی ہے نہ سوچ۔۔۔ انکی فطرت ہوتی ہے خاص لوگوں کے پیچھے چلنا۔۔۔۔۔۔ تو پھر خاص, مشہور, پڑھے لکھے, سمجھدار, معززاوربااثرافراد سے پوچھہ لیتے ہیں کہ ہمارے معاشرے میں بدعت, لغویات, خرافات, دین کے نام پہ فضول رسومات کو پھیلانے یا پھیلنے سے روکنے میں ان کا کیا کردار رہا۔۔۔ دین کو رسومات بنانے میں تعاون کس نے کیا۔۔۔ اپنی صفائیاں پیش کرنے کے بجائے اپنی کوششوں کی تفصیل بتادیں۔۔۔
پڑھے لکھے, سمجھدار, معزز اور بااثر افراد کی طرف سے میلاد, رائیونڈ کے اجتماعات جیسی سرگرمیوں کی مالی اور اخلاقی حوصلہ افزائی کوئی اچھی علامت نہیں۔۔۔ سالوں سے دین کے نام پہ ہمدردیاں بٹورنے یا ہمدردیاں لٹانے کا کام جاری ہے۔۔۔ جب یہ ہمدردیاں طاقت بن کر چھانے کی کوشش کرتی ہیں اور خون خرابہ ہو توہمدردیاں لٹانے والے ہی اسکو انتہاپسندی کا نام دے کر روتے پیٹتے ہیں۔۔۔ الله, رسول … ان ناموں پر ہمدردی دے بھی دیتے ہیں اور لے بھی لیتے ہیں… اپنی جان دے بھی دیتے ہیں اور لے بھی لیتے ہیں… مگر کبھی کوئی نظام بنانے کی کوشش نہیں کرتے اور نہ عام عوام یعنی اپنے چاہنے والوں کو سمجھانےکی کوشش کرتے ہیں۔۔۔ ان حالات کا آخری انجام یہ ہوتا ہے کہ قاتلوں کو سزا کے بجائے پنجابی فلموں کی طرح ہیرو بنایا جاتا ہے۔۔۔
Mullahs and Moderates – January 5, 2011
Governor Punjab Mr. Sulman Taseer got killed by an extremist. Okay, so what? There are thousands of people get killed everyday for different reasons. Who cares about them, who mourns them? Do politicians and leaders get worried about providing them justice? No…okay, then this what they deserve.
People should think hundred times before throwing their sympathy and money to these illiterate and ignorant religious groups who divide people, rule them and then brainwash their minds to kill in the name of God. Once they have a reasonable crown to create a chaos, and they can turn their peaceful Raiwand type gatherings into an angry mob. People are so lazy that they believe that yes, they are not able to read and understand Qur’an, ahadith and religious books on their own. They have to rely upon these madrassah-confined self-declared scholars. Shame on those religious organizations who claim to be educated and support this kind of non-sense in the name of religion. Totally ignorant of Prophet’s methodology exploit people in the name of Allah and Rasul, complete misuse of the word ‘jihad’ and ‘namoos-e-risalat’.
These scholars must explain the words jihad and namoos-e-risalat, one is a life time struggle the other is the life time character. They just can’t skip it and jump to the conclusions of killing and destroying in the name of Allah and Muhammad (pbuh).
It’s not only religious.
- What’s wrong with this photo? Standing in the same line with Christians? So what? Don’t people of all nationalities, faith, colour, and creed stand in line shoulder to shoulder in discipline, putting their right hand on their heart, to take the oath of allegiance that they are now American citizens and they will defend America and will support their military operations? Muslims even Jamat-e-Islami, Tanzeem-e-Islami, Tableeghi Jamat, Brailvi and Deo-bandi sects, the Qadri and Attari take oath the same way.
sect or politicians to be blamed. The degree holders (who call themselves educated) of colleges and universities should also take the responsibility of participating in this mess. Yeah, taking part in the blame-game, cursing mullahs and extremists wouldn’t solve the problems because they have won the sympathies of huge majority of our population. How? because they are every ready to provide them with a quick solution to their problems while the moderates and moderns averse them and avoid them. The illiterates think of themselves worthy of being excused for not understanding the religion or anything at all when they see the educated class not reading, researching, discussing the religious issues. This justification of actions provides an inner-satisfaction and thus with this state of calmness in heart and emptiness in mind, anyone can be pulled towards easy, lazy and cozy ideas of “on the path to Jannah”.
Just like Science, Math, Literature, History, Geography, Religious education is also a part of knowledge. Without religious know how, a graduate, a degree holder, a doctor or surgeon, an engineer, a computer scientist, a player, an artist, a writer/poet or else is an ignorant of same level as of a person whose knowledge is limited to few religious books.
The moderates and the modern people must realize that they are the part of this society and if they don’t contribute positively and wisely then they should be ready to suffer the negative effects of the negativity in their surroundings. Keeping degrees and status aside, they should try to approach the common people with the vision of peace, patience and stability. Peace in behaviour guarantees law and order, patience controls unnecessary flow of emotions and stability for progressive movement.
But these things only matter to those who are loyal to this land and are sincere to this nation. Good Luck to the rest wherever you live.
While Traveling – October 22, 2010
عید کے تیسرے دن ایک ٹیکسی ڈرائیور سے پالا پڑا۔۔۔ سر پر ہری پگڑی, لمبا سفید کرتا اور ٹخنوں سے اونچا پاجامہ, چہرے پرلمبی بےربط ڈاڑھی, آنکھوں میں سنتوں کا غرور,منہ میں پان کا سرور۔۔۔ دور سے دیکھہ کر یقین ہو گیا کہ یہ اسلام کے نہیں فیضان مدینہ کے نمائندے ہیں۔۔۔
سفر شروع ہوتے ہی انکی ڈرائیونگ میں انکی فطری جنونیت کے آثار ظاہر ہو ناشروع ہو گئے۔۔۔ زگ زیگ کرتے ہوئے تیزی سے آگے بڑھتے چلے جارہے تھے۔۔۔ میں نے کہا۔۔۔ بات سنئیے ابھی تو رمضان ختم ہو ئے ہیں تھوڑا تو صبر دکھائیے آپ توٹریفک قوانین توڑتے چلے جارہے ہیں کوئی حادثہ ہو سکتاہے کسی کی جان جاسکتی ہے۔۔۔۔۔۔ انھوں نے گھورکرمجھے دیکھا اور رفتار کم کر لی۔۔۔۔۔۔
ایک منٹ گذرا اور پھر وہی بے ہودگی شروع۔۔۔ میں نے غصے سے تیز آواز میں کہا۔۔۔ آپ سائیڈ پہ گاڑی روکیے اور مجھے اتار دیجیے مجھے ایسے لوگ بالکل پسند نہیں جو نہ قوانین کی پرواہ کریں نہ دوسروں کی جانوں کی۔۔۔ کیا فائدہ آپکے نماز روزوں اور درس و دروس کا۔۔۔
کہنے لگے سب اسی طرح گاڑی چلاتے ہیں۔۔۔ میں نے کہا اگر سب غلط ہیں توآپ صحیح گاڑی چلا لیں آپ تو ویسے بھی اسلام کو ریپریزنٹ کر رہے ہیں آپ کو تو سب سے زیادہ قوانین پر عمل کرنا چاہیے۔۔۔
انھوں نے گاڑی کی رفتار کم کی, دروازہ کھولا اور وہی مشہور زمانہ غلیظ حرکت کی یعنی تھوکا اور کہنے لگے آپ کا مسئلہ کیا ہے آپ کو میں بھی غلط لگ رہا ہوں اور سارا شہر غلط لگتاہے بس ایک آپ ہی ٹھیک ہیں۔۔۔ مجھے اٹھائیس سال ہو گئے ٹیکسی چلاتے ہوئے آپ پہلی شخص ہیں جس نے مجھے یہ سب کہا۔۔۔ الحمدلله آج تک کوئی حادثہ نہیں ہوا اور نہ ہو گا اور کراچی کا نظام ہمیشہ سے ایسا ہی ہے۔۔۔۔۔۔ کراچی کو قیامت تک کچھہ نہیں ہو گا کیونکہ سب سے زیادہ دین کا کام کراچی میں ہو رہا ہے۔۔۔سب سے زیادہ نمازیں یہاں پڑھی جاتی ہیں پورے پاکستان پرعذاب آسکتاہے لیکن کراچی کوکچھہ نہیں ہوسکتا دیکھہ لیں سب جگہ زلزلے سیلاب آئے لیکن کراچی ہمیشہ بچ گیا۔۔۔
میں انکی سنگدلی پرحیران رہ گئی۔۔۔ کتنی آسانی سے انھوں نے پاکستان پرعذاب کی بات کردی۔۔۔ میں نے کہا کراچی کے نظام خراب ہونے کی بات تو وہ اس لیے ہے کہ آپ جیسے لوگ دن دھاڑے قوانین توڑتے ہیں اور اس پر شرمندہ ہو نے کے بجائے بحث کرتے ہیں۔۔۔ میں سب کو نہیں جانتی لیکن اسوقت میں آپکے ساتھہ ہوں اسلیے آپکوغلطی کا احساس دلانا میرا فرض ہے اوراس غلطی کا تعلق صرف آپ سے نہیں بلکہ آس پاس کے ہر شخص سے ہے۔۔۔ آپ کے اجتماعات میں یہ نہیں بتایا جاتا کہ ہم اشرف المخلوقات ہیں اور ہمیں اس زمین پر ایک نظام کو قائم کرنے کے لئے پیداکیا گیا ہے۔۔۔ ہمارے علاوہ دوسروں کا بھی حق ہے سڑکوں گلیوں اور چوراہوں پر۔۔۔
شاید زندگی کا پہلا رمضان ہے جو رمضان نہیں لگ رہا۔۔۔ ایسا لگ رہا ہے جیسے پاکستان کروڑوں لوگوں کی اجتماعی قبر ہے اور سب عذاب قبر جھیل رہے ہیں۔۔۔
وہ با شعور لوگ جنھیں معاشرے میں اپنی تعداد بڑھانے کی فکر ہونی چاہیے تھی اگر وہ فکر ان میں موجود نہیں توپھر وہ بھی بے شعور ہی ہوئے۔۔۔ اور جب باشعور اور بے شعور ایک ہو جائیں تو وہی کچھہ ہوتا ہے جو سیالکوٹ اور ملک کے دو سرےحصوں میں ہو رہا ہے۔۔۔ اگر چار پانچ لاکھہ بچے ملک کی سڑکوں پر موجود ہیں تو تعلیم یافتہ افراد مل کے ان کے کچھہ کرسکتے ہیں تاکہ وہ ایک پڑھی لکھی نسل بن کر معاشرے میں اچھا اضافہ ثابت ہوں۔۔۔ نہ کہ وہ بقیہ بے شعور اکثریت میں شامل ہو کرسب پر بوجھہ بنیں۔۔۔ ہمارے رسول نے توہمیں ایکدوسرے کا وارث بنایا تھا یہاں تک کہ غیر مسلموں تک کی جان مال اور عزت کا محافظ بنایا تھا۔۔۔ ہم ایک دوسرے کے لئے ہی عذاب بن گئے۔۔۔
میں ناخوش وبیزار ہوں مرمر کی سلوں سے۔۔۔۔۔۔۔۔ میرے لئے مٹی کا حرم اور بنادو
کے اے ای سی ایچ ایس۔۔۔ یہ کراچی کے ایک علاقے کا نام ہے۔۔۔ اس علاقے میں ایک مسجد ہے جس میں کوئی بغیرداڑھی کے نماز نہیں پڑھ سکتا۔۔۔ مسجد سے نکال دیا جاتا ہے۔۔۔ داڑھی بھی مٹھی بھر لمبی ہو۔۔۔۔۔۔ ایک طرف دنیا کی دوسری مقدس ترین مسجد یعنی مسجد نبوی تھی جہاں رسول خدا عیسائیوں کو ٹہرنے کی اجازت دیتے ہیں۔۔۔۔ اور ایک ہمارے شیطان مولوی۔۔۔ مسلمانوں پر ہی الله کے گھر کے دروازے بند کردیتے ہیں۔۔۔
کل ایک مسجد کے مولوی نے جمعہ کے خطبہ کے دوران فرمایا کہ۔۔۔ اگر ایک محبوب اپنی محبوبہ کوروزے کے دوران اپنا تھوک چٹادے تو دونوں کا روزہ فاسق ہو جاتاہے۔۔۔۔۔۔۔۔۔۔۔۔ کاش اس مجمع میں سے کسی نے اٹھہ کر اس مولوی سے یہ پوچھا ہوتا کہ مولوی صاحب آپ لوگوں کا اسلام بیوی محبوبہ شادی اور بچوں تک کیوں ہوتا ہے اور کیا مسجد ان بے ہودہ باتوں کے لئے مناسب جگہ ہے۔۔۔۔۔۔ ملک میں قیامت آئی ہوئی ہے۔۔۔ مدرسے کے لوگ جو سالوں بھیک کے آٹا چاول کھا کھا کرحافظ اور عالم بنتے ہیں کیا وہ اس وقت کیمپس میں جاکر فوج اور رینجرز کی مدد نہیں کر سکتے۔۔۔ فری فری کاکھا تے ہیں تو فری فری کا کام نہیں کرسکتے۔۔۔ مردانہ کام کریں گے تومردانگی پیدا ہوگی نہ۔۔۔ اس مولوی نےشاید مسجد سے باہر قدم نہیں رکھا۔۔۔ یا تو شرم وحیا کی وجہ سے یا پھر شرمندگی کی وجہ سے۔۔۔ اسکو یہ معلوم ہی نہیں کہ اس سال بہت سے ہٹے کٹے روزہ ہی نہیں رکھہ رہے۔۔۔ انسان بھوک سے مر رہے ہیں اور مولوی حضرات مسجدوں میں محبوب اور محبوبہ کے قصے خطبوں میں سنا رہے ہیں۔۔۔ اور لوگ سن رہے ہیں۔۔۔
۔۔۔ کیا تم کو گمان ہے کہ داخل ہو جاؤ گے جنت میںیونہی اورجبکہ ابھی تک معلوم نہیں کیا الله نےان لوگوں کو جو جہاد کرنے والے اور ثابت قدم رہنے والے ہیں۔۔۔ سورہ آل عمران۔۔۔
۔۔۔ کیا سمجھہ رکھا ہے تم نے کہ داخل ہو جاؤگے جنت میں جبکہ نہیں پیش آئے تمکو وہ حالات جوگذرےتم سے پہلوں پر کہ پہنچی انھیں تنگدستی اور مصیبت والم اور ہلا دئے گئے یہاں تک کہ پکار اٹھا رسول اور جو ایمان لائے تھے کہ کب آئے گی الله کی مدد۔۔۔ سن رکھو کہ الله کی مدد آیا ہی چاہتی ہے۔۔۔ سورہ البقرہ۔۔۔
بڑی حیرت ہوتی ہے یہ دیکھہ کر کہ جن حالات سے ہم گذر رہےہیں ان سب کو دیکھنےاور بھگتنے کے باوجود بہت سے لوگ خاص کر کے پڑھے لکھے لوگ قرآن کو پرانے قصے کہانیوں کی کتاب سے زیادہ کچھہ نہیں سمجھتے۔۔۔ یہ تو قوانین اور اصولوں کی کتاب ہے۔۔۔ ھدایت کی کتاب ہے۔۔۔ ھدایت کی ضرورت اسے ہوتی ہے جو بھٹک گیا ہو۔۔۔ راستہ گم کر بیٹھا ہو اور صحیح راستہ کی تلاش میں ہو۔۔۔ قوانین اوراصولوں کی ضرورت وہاں ہوتی ہے جہاں کچھہ لوگ ملکر رہنا چاہتے ہوں اور اندیشہ ہو کہ کوئی کسی پر زیادتی نہ کر بیٹھے کسی پر ظلم نہ ہو جائے۔۔۔
۔۔۔ اوربے شک انسان خود اپنے نفس پہ گواہ ہے۔۔۔ سورہ القیامہ۔۔۔۔۔۔ ہر آفت ہر تباہی ہر ظلم اور ہر بربادی کے موقع پر ہر مسلمان پاکستانی کی زبان پر یہی الفاظ ہوتے ہیں۔۔۔ یہ ہمارے اعمالوں کی سزا ہے۔۔۔ ہم ہیں ہی گناہ گار۔۔۔ ہماری نیتیں صاف نہیں ہیں۔۔۔ ہم دنیا کی بد ترین قوم ہیں۔۔۔ جب خود ہر پاکستانی اپنے نفس اور اعمال پر گواہ ہے تو کیوں نہیں اس گناہوں کی دلدل سے نکلتے۔۔۔ کیوں نہیں تلاش کرتے اس کتاب میں واپسی کا راستہ۔۔۔
ملک سے باہر رہنے والے پاکستانی اگر خود کو اب بھی اس قوم کا حصہ سمجھتے ہیں تو وہ صرف عطیات بھیج کر بلا ٹالنے کے علاوہ سیاسی شیطانوں کو پریشرائز کرسکتے ہیں بہت سے کاموں کے لئے۔۔۔ کیونکہ شیطان بہرحال شیطان ہے انسان کے مقابلے پہ کمزور ہوتا ہے۔۔۔
سیلاب کی تباہ کاریاں جاری ہیں۔۔۔ مستقبل قریب تک کوئی آثار نہیں کہ حکومت کی طرف سے کبھی کوئی منصوبہ بندی سامنے آئے گی۔۔۔ لہذا کرنا سب کچھہ لوگوں کو ہی پڑے گا۔۔۔ لاکھوں لوگوں کے لئے آخر کتنے لوگ والنٹئر کر سکتے ہیں اورکب تک۔۔۔ کتنے ڈاکٹرز کتنے فوڈ سپلائرز وہاں جا سکتے ہیں۔۔۔ کتنے لوگ کہاں تک سفر کر سکتے ہیں۔۔۔ کیونکہ جتنے لوگ وہاں جاتے ہیں وہ فی الوقت تو وہیں کا حصہ بن جاتے ہیں وہ کب تک وہاں رہ سکتے ہیں۔۔۔ پھر یہ زلزلہ تو ہے نہیں۔۔۔ ہر جگہ پانی ہی پانی ہے۔۔۔ جو آٹا چاول بھیجیں گے وہ کدھر پکے گا کیسے پکے گا۔۔۔ سیلاب سے متاثرہ لوگ جب تک اس گند گی میں رہیں گے بیمار ہی رہیں گے۔۔۔ پہلے ہی وہ لوگ زندگی کے شعور سے نا آشنا تھے۔۔۔ یہ بدحالی تو سونے پہ سہا گہ ہے۔۔۔اگر متاثرہ خاندانوں نے کہیں کچی بستیاں آباد کرنی شروع کر دیں تو وہ بھی مسئلہ ہوگا۔۔۔
فوج وہ واحد ادارہ ہےجو کچھہ بھی کرسکتا ہے بہترین طریقے سے۔۔۔ لیکن ہم اسے ہر تھوڑے عرصے میں بدترین طریقے سے تھکا دیتے ہیں۔۔۔ لوگوں کے موبلائزنہ ہونے کی وجوہات بہت ساری ہیں۔۔۔ کراچی میں کچھہ دن پہلے کے حا لات۔۔۔ مہنگائی۔۔۔ خاص کر لڑکیوں یا خواتین کی سیکیورٹی۔۔۔ اداروں اور جماعتوں پر بے اعتباری۔۔۔ اورکچھہ ناکافی معلومات۔۔۔ لوگ بہت کچھہ کرنا چاہ رہے ہیںمگر منصوبہ بندی نہیں ہے۔۔۔
یہ ایک دو مہینے کی بات تو ہے نہیں۔۔۔ ایک علاقے سے کام شروع ہوگا توآہستہ آہستہ لوگ ایکدوسرے کو دیکھہ کر انکریج ہوں گے۔۔۔ تو اور لوگ بھی ذمہ داری لیں گے۔۔۔ کام بانٹنے سے کم ہوگا۔۔۔
SURAH AL-BAQARAH/THE COW
“Those who spend their substance in the cause of Allah, and follow not up their gifts with reminders of their generosity or with injury,-for them their reward is with their Lord: on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve… Kind words and the covering of faults are better than charity followed by injury. Allah is free of all wants, and He is Most-Forbearing… O ye who believe! cancel not your charity by reminders of your generosity or by injury,- like those who spend their substance to be seen of men, but believe neither in Allah nor in the Last Day. They are in parable like a hard, barren rock, on which is a little soil: on it falls heavy rain, which leaves it (Just) a bare stone. They will be able to do nothing with aught they have earned. And Allah guideth not those who reject faith”…. 262-264
“O ye who believe! Give of the good things which ye have (honourably) earned, and of the fruits of the earth which We have produced for you, and do not even aim at getting anything which is bad, in order that out of it ye may give away something, when ye yourselves would not receive it except with closed eyes. And know that Allah is Free of all wants, and worthy of all praise”… 267
“(Charity is) for those in need, who, in Allah’s cause are restricted (from travel), and cannot move about in the land, seeking (For trade or work): the ignorant man thinks, because of their modesty, that they are free from want. Thou shalt know them by their (Unfailing) mark: They beg not importunately from all the sundry. And whatever of good ye give, be assured Allah knoweth it well… Those who (in charity) spend of their goods by night and by day, in secret and in public, have their reward with their Lord: on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve”… 273-274
بڑی خواہش تھی کہ چودہ اگست رمضان میں آئے۔۔۔ الله کی دو بہترین نعمتیں یعنی رمضان اور آزادی ایکساتھہ جمع ہونگی تو جوش جذبہ دیکھنے کے قابل ہوگا۔۔۔ الله کا کرم ہوااور آج تیسرا روزہ چودہ اگست کے ساتھہ مل گیا۔۔۔ اگلے دو سال بھی یوم آزادی رمضان میں ہی پڑے گا۔۔۔
کل شام باہر نکلے تو کافی دیر مختلف علاقوں کی مارکیٹس گھوم پھر کرپتہ چلاکہ تقریبا نووے فیصدبازار بند تھا۔۔۔ میں نے وجہ معلوم کی۔۔۔ رکشہ والے نےبڑا عجیب سا جملہ کہا کہ پہلا دوسرا روزہ ہے تنگ کررہا ہے لوگ تھکے ہوئے ہیں چٹھے ساتویں روز تک ٹھیک ہو جائے گا۔۔۔ پھر بولا کہ کل سے کراچی سنسان پڑا ہے ہم بھی گاڑی لے کر گھوم رہے ہیں کام نہیں ہے۔۔۔۔۔۔ کسی نے کہا کہ اصل میں تراویح کی وجہ سے بند ہےسب۔۔۔۔۔۔۔ پھر چودہ اگست کے اسٹالز سنسان دیکھے۔۔۔ یہ صرف جوش وجذبہ دکھانے کا ذریعہ ہی نہیں تھے بلکہ طلبہ کے لئےایک کمائی کا ذریعہ بھی تھے۔۔۔
رکشہ والے سے تو میں نے کہا بھائی روزہ تنگ کرہا ہے۔۔۔ روزہ تو پہلے دس دنوں میں رحمت ہے اگلے دس دنوں میں مغفرت اور پھر دوزخ سے آزادی۔۔۔ اور رمضان تو ہر سال آتا ہےاپنے وقت پر۔۔۔ ہم ہی بے وقت اور بے اصول ہوکر خود پر تھکن چڑھاتے ہیں۔۔۔
تراویح کی تھکن بھی اسلئےہے کہ رسول نے جس عبادت کو تیس دنوں میں ادا کیاآسانی کے لئے۔۔۔اسےچھہ اور دس دنوں میں سمیٹ کر بوجھہ بنا لیاکہ بعد میں لگ کے کمائی کرینگے۔۔۔ پہلی بات تو یہ کہ چھہ یا دس روزہ تراویح میںبھی تین گھنٹے سے زیادہ نہیں لگتے۔۔۔ نو سے بارہ ختم ہو جاتی ہے۔۔۔ اسکے بعد کھانا کھائیں تو سحری کی ضرورت نہیں رہتی۔۔۔ تین چار گھنٹوں کی نیند مل جاتی ہے۔۔۔ فجر پڑھ کر دوبارہ سوئیں تو صبح دس گیارہ بجے تک پانچ چھہ گھنٹےاور مل جاتے ہیں تراویح کی تھکن اتارنے کے لئے۔۔۔ اسکے بعد تو انسان یا مسلمان کو تازہ دم ہو جانا چاہیے۔۔۔ گیارہ سے چھہ یعنی کہ آٹھہ گھنٹے کاروبار ہو سکتا ہے۔۔۔۔۔۔ لیکن سنت رسول کی تراویح عشاء کی نماز سمیت ایک گھنٹے میں ختم ہو جاتی ہے۔۔۔ لہذا رات کو ہی پانچ چھہ گھنٹوں کی نیند ہو جاتی ہے۔۔۔ پھر فجر کے بعد دو تین گھنٹے اور سو لیں تب بھی صبح نو سے شام تک نو گھنٹے مل جاتے ہیں کمائی کے۔۔۔ یہ کس قسم کے روزے ہیں کہ دن میں سب کاروبار لپیٹ کر سو گئے اور رات کو سڑکوں پر دھما چوکڑی کرو۔۔۔ جیسے کہ یہودی رات کو روزہ رکھہ کر سوجاتے تھے اور دن میں دنیاداری۔۔۔ اپنی تنخواہ کٹانے کا کام کیا بھی تو فوج نے۔۔۔
ہم نے اس ملک کو جس جہنم کی طرف دھکیلا ہے اس جہنم سے آزادی کے لئے با ایمان ہی نہیں بلکہ ایماندار اور با اصول ہونا لازمی ہے۔۔۔ یہی تو وقت ہے کہ چھٹی کے دن بھی چھٹی نہ کریں بلکہ اس دن کی کمائی حقداروں تک پہنچادیں۔۔۔ یہ بھی بہت بڑی عبادت ہے ورنہ ادھر سے مانگ کر ادھر دینے کا کام تو ہو ہی رہا ہے۔۔۔
غزوہ تبوک کے موقع پر جبکہ ہر لحاظ سے زندگی کی بد ترین آزمائشوں کا سامنا تھا۔۔۔ رسول کی پکار پرسب نے بڑھ بڑھ کر صدقات دئے۔۔۔ ایک بزرگ صحابی جو کہ نہایت نادار تھےساری رات ایک یہودی کے باغ میں محنت کرتے ہیں۔۔۔ یہودی انھیں صبح ہونے پرمٹھی بھر کھجوریں پکڑادیتا ہے۔۔۔ وہ یہ کھجوریں لے کر رسول کے پاس جاتے ہیں اور چپکے سےدینے کی کوشش کرتے ہیں کہ شرمندگی نہ ہو۔۔۔ رات بھر میں مسجد نبوی میں سامان کا ڈھیر لگ چکا تھا جس میں سیدنا ابو بکر و عمر سمیت سب کا مال شامل تھا۔۔۔ رسول وہ چند کھجوریں اس ڈھیر پر بکھراکر فرماتے ہیں کہ اب الله نے یہ سب قبول کیا ہے۔۔۔
رمضان کی تیاری۔۔۔ رمضان ہمارے محلے کے نکڑ پہ رہنے والا ایک غریب اور سادہ شخص۔۔۔ ہروقت ہرایک کی مدد کے لئے تیار۔۔۔ کسی سے شکوہ نہیں۔۔۔ نہ ہی تقدیرسے گلہ۔۔۔ جیساجس نےدن بھر سلوک کیا۔۔۔ رات سونے سے پہلے سبکو معاف کردیا۔۔۔ اپنی محنت کو اپنی تقدیر سمجھنا اسکی فطرت۔۔۔ حیا اتنی کہ کسی کوآنکھہ اٹھا کر نہ دیکھے۔۔۔ وفا اتنی کہ دشمن کے لئے بھی واپسی کا روازہ کھلا رکھے۔۔۔ سخی اتنا کہ کچھہ بھی نہ ہو تو ایک مسکراہٹ کے ساتھہ سلام توضرور ہی پیش کردے۔۔۔ اسکی سب سے بہترین عادت تھی کہ فرائض کو سرعام اور نوافل کو چھپ کر ادا کرتا۔۔۔ خاموشی کے ساتھہ کسی کو تکلیف دئیے بغیر گذر جانا اس کا مزاج ۔۔۔ بچے بوڑھے جوان, کسی کو اس سے شکایت نہیں۔۔۔۔ لوگ جب اس سے ان تمام باتوں کاسبب پوچھتے تو جواب دیتا کہ یہ سب تو میرے رب سے ملنے کی تیاری ہے۔۔۔ شاید یہ رمضان کی ہی برکتیں تھیں جو اس محلے پر کوئی آفت نہیں ٹوٹی تھی۔۔۔ کوئی مصیبت نہیں آئی تھی۔۔۔۔۔۔ لیکن جس دن سے رمضان کا انتقال ہوا ہے لوگ ہر سال اسکی برسی دھوم دھام سے مناتےہیں۔۔۔ اتنی دھوم دھام سے کہ شور شرابے اور ہلڑ بازی میں اسکے نقش قدم پہ چلنا بھول جاتے ہیں۔۔۔ ہر سال اسکے تیس روزہ عرس کے موقع پر وہ دھما چوکڑی مچتی ہے کہ خدا کی پناہ۔۔۔ اسکے سوگ میں دن بھر کچھہ نہیں کھاتے مگر شام ہوتےہی۔۔۔
ویسےکیا خیال ہے۔۔۔ کیسا ہوگا ہمارا رب۔۔۔اس سے مانگے والے تو ہم سب ہیں اس سے ڈرنے اور اس کے نام پہ مرنے مارنے والے بھی۔۔۔ کوئی اسکے بارے سوچنے والا بھی ہے۔۔۔ جیسے سوچا جاتا ہے کسی اپنے کے بارے میں۔۔۔ جوانسان کے دل میں رہنا چاہے اسے آسمانوںمیں گم کردیا۔۔۔ اب جب ضرورت پڑتی ہے تو چیخ چیخ کر اسے پکارتے ہیں۔۔۔ اسے اتنی دور کیوں کر دیا کہ چیخنا پڑے۔۔۔ وہ پتھر کا بت نہیں جیتا جاگتا باتیں کرتا ہوا رب ہے۔۔۔ ہمارے سیاستدانوں کی طرح غافل نہیں۔۔۔ ہر وقت اپنے ایک ایک بندے کے حال سے باخبر۔۔۔ کھبی چاہتاہے اسے لوگ جماعت میں یاد کریں تو کھبی تنہائی میں۔۔۔ کھبی خاموشی سےصبر کرلیں اورکھبی بچوں کی طرح رو رو کر مانگیں۔۔۔ کھبی اسکی باتیں سنی ہیں۔۔۔ کتنی تسلیاں دیتا ہے اور ایک بھی جھوٹی نہیں۔۔۔
کھبی محسوس کیا ہے کہ اس کی پیدا کی ہوئی ساری چیزیں اس کی مخبر ہیں۔۔۔ پھول پودے درخت پانی مٹی پتھر ہوا بادل جانور پرندے لکڑی لوہا۔۔۔ ہر چیز ہمیں گھور رہی ہوتی ہے۔۔۔ اسی لئے امی کہتی تھیں چیزوں کو احتیاط سے استعمال کیا کرو چیزوں کی قدر کیا کرو تاکہ یہ تمھاری قدر کریں۔۔۔
خدا کی قسم ہم پاکستانیوں نے الله کی چیزوں کا اسکی نعمتوں کا حق نہیں پہچانا۔۔۔ توڑ پھوڑکرنا۔۔۔ بربادکرنا۔۔۔ چھین لینا۔۔۔ نکال دینا۔۔۔ بند کردینا۔۔۔ آگ لادینا۔۔۔ صوبوں کو توڑ کر چھوٹا کردینا کیوں کہ ہمار سیاستدانوں سے سنبھالے نہیں جاتے۔۔۔ جس زمین پر اپنے ہاتھوں سے پھول لگائے جا سکتے ہوں اسے تھوک تھوک کر غلیظ بنادینا۔۔۔ ہم ان سب سے غافل ہوئے ہیں مگر نہ الله غافل نہ اسکی چیزیں غافل۔۔۔ اب شاید ان کے بدلہ لینے کا وقت ہے۔۔۔۔
۔۔۔۔۔ کہہ دو الله فرماتا ہے کہ اےمیرے بندوں۔۔۔ جنھوں نے ظلم کیا ہے اپنی جانوں پر۔۔۔ مایوس نہ ہونا الله کی رحمت سے۔۔۔ بلا شبہ معاف کردیتاہےسارے گناہ۔۔۔ یقینا وہ تو ہے ہی گناہ معاف فرمانے والا مہربان۔۔۔۔۔۔۔ پلٹ آؤ اپنے رب کی طرف اور فرماں بردار بن جاؤ اس سے پہلے کہ آجائے تم پر عذاب اورپھر نہ مدد مل سکے تمھیں کہیں سے بھی۔۔۔۔۔۔ سورہ الزمر آیت چون پچپن۔۔۔۔
۔۔۔۔۔۔ نہیں پچان سکے یہ الله کو جیسا کہ حق ہےاسکو پہچاننے کا۔۔۔ جبکہ اسکی شان یہ ہے کہ زمین ساری کی ساری اسکی مٹھی میں ہوگی قیامت کے دن اور آسمان لپٹےہوئے ہوں گے اسکے ہاتھہ میں۔۔۔ پاک ہے وہ اور بالاتر اس شرک سے جویہ کرتے ہیں۔۔۔ سورہ الزمر آیت سرسٹھہ۔۔۔۔۔
يُِرِيدُاللهُ بِكُمُ اليُسرَ وَلايُرِيدُ بِكُمُ العُسرَ۔۔۔۔۔۔۔۔
الله تمھارے لئے آسانیاں چاہتا ہے اور نہیں چاہتا وہ تمھارے لئے مشکلات۔۔۔۔۔۔۔۔سورہ البقرہ
رمضان کی برکات شروع ہونے سے پہلے ہی حادثات شروع ہو چکے ہیں۔۔۔جو گھرانے ان حادثات سے متاثر ہوئے انکی عید تو کیا ہی ہو گی۔۔۔ گیلی سڑکوں کے بعد ریتیلی سڑکیں۔۔۔ اس گندگی میں تہذیب یافتہ انسان قدم رکھنا پسند نہیں کرتے۔۔۔ فرشتوں جیسی پاک مخلوق کہاں سے نازل ہونگے۔۔۔ اور اگر رسول کی سواری اور علی اور حسین کی ہمارے درمیان آمد کی باتیں درست ہیں تو مجھے سمجھہ نہیں آتا کہ اتنی غلاظت کو وہ پاک ہستیاں برداشت کیسے کرتی ہونگی۔۔۔ مسجد جانے والے نمازیوں نے کھبی اپنے حلیے پہ نظر ڈالی ہے۔۔۔ مسجدوں کے اندر باہر کا حال دیکھا ہے۔۔۔ کیا رمضان اور کیا رمضان کی برکات۔۔۔۔۔۔ اس پہ تماشہ یہ کہ ہمارے علاقے میں شراب خانہ کھول دیا گیا ہے۔۔۔ مطلب یہ کہ قدرت کی طرف سے آزمائشیں ایکطرف۔۔۔ لیکن ایکدوسرے کو آزمانے کا کوئی موقع ہاتھہ سے جانے نہیں دیتے۔۔۔ بجائے اسکے کہ قوم کو منشیات سے پاک کرتے۔۔۔ جو حواسوں میں رہ گئے ہیں ان کوبھی مدہوش کرنے کا پکا انتظام کرلیا۔۔۔ ایم کیو ایم کا کنٹرول ہے علاقے میں۔۔۔ لیکن یہ پوچھنے کی جرات کون کرے کہ آپکے شیخ تو قرآن کی آیات سے اپنا فرمان شروع کرتے ہیں۔۔۔ شراب والی آیات تک ابھی پہنچے نہیں کیا۔۔۔۔
با شعورلوگوں میں سےقوم یوتھہ پارلیمنٹ کے چھہ افراد سے ہاتھہ دھو چکی ہے۔۔۔ بھلا پا کستان کے دشمنوں کہاں یہ سب برداشت کرنا۔۔۔ اسی لئے تو سیاست اور دین پہ گینڈے اور ہاتھیوں کو بٹھایا ہوا ہے۔۔۔۔
بابا کاپہلا اعتکاف یاد ہے۔ بیسواںروزہ تھا جیکسن ہائٹس کی مسجد میں کسی نے اعتکاف کے لئے نام نہیں دیا۔ ماما سے مغرب کے بعد بات ہوئی تو انھوں نےبابا سے ذکر کیاکہ اگرکوئی ایک بھی بیٹھہ جائے تو فرض کفایھ ہو جائے گا ورنہ پورے علاقے کے مسلمان مردوں کی پوچھہ ہوگی۔ بابا نے گھرآکر اعتکاف کااعلان کردیا۔ پھر آگے بھی دو تین سال کیا۔ ایک سال یہ بھی ہواکہ کسی نے رات کو موم بتی جلائی اور خود سو گئے۔ ہوا سے پردہ ہلااور آگ پکڑ لی۔ مسجد بیسمنٹ میں تھی اور دروازے بند اسلئے دھوئیں سے جلد ہی سب کی آنکھہ کھل گئی۔ بھاگ دوڑ مچی پانی کے لئے۔ بابا نے جب دیکھا کہ آگ اوپر تک پہنچ گئی ہے تو انھوں نے دونوں ہاتھوں سے پردہ تھاما اور نیچے تک آگ بجھاتے چلے گئے۔ ہتھیلیاں کافی جل چکی تھیں لیکن انھوں نے اعتکاف نہیں توڑا وہیں کوئی دوائی لگائی۔ ہمیں عید کی چاند رات کو پتہ چلا۔ بابا کونفلی عبادت میں بھی فرض ادا کرنے کا موقع مل گیا۔ بھئ لکڑی کی توعمارتیں ہوتی ہیں وہاں اورجو زیادہ نقصان ہوتا تو مسجد بند ہو جاتی اور بدنامی الگ۔ اسے کہتے ہیں مرد اور مردانگی۔
یہ بات سمجھہ نہیں آئی کہ جس ملک میں بجلی نہیں جاتی وہاں ان بزرگ نے موم بتی کیوں جلائی۔
اچھا دیکھیں ایک عجیب بات یہ ہے کہ جن اعمال کا الله سبحانہ وتعالی کے ہاں جواب دینا ہے یعنی فرائض۔ ان پر کوئی توجہ نہیں البتہ نفلی عبادتوں پر کتابوں کی کتابیں چھاپ دیں گے ایکدوسرے کا سرپھاڑ دیں گے۔ ابھی شب معراج گذری ہے اوراب شب برات کا موقع ہے پھررمضان کااعتکاف۔ یہ سب نفل ہیں جن کی پو چھہ نہیں ہے لیکن ماشاءالله ہمارے علماء نے انھیں فرائض کے برابر لا کھڑا کیا ہے۔
پندرہ شعبان کے دوسرے دن سب آفسز اوراسکولوں سے چھٹی کرکےبیٹھے ہوتے ہیں۔ بے چارے رات بھر کی تھکن کے مارے۔ حالانکہ کمانا اور علم حاصل کرنایا علم دینا دونوں فرائض ہیں۔ لیکن رات بھر کے ہلے گلے اور مقابلہ بازی کو دوسرے دن کام چوری کا بہانہ بنایاجاتاہے۔
یہی حال اعتکاف کا ہے۔ سارے نکمے اور کام چور رمضان کے آخری عشرے میں مسجدوں کا رخ کرتے ہیں۔ دس دن تک آرام اور سارا سال پھٹکار اوردھتکار کے بعد اس بہانےذرا عزت مل جاتی ہے۔ مولوی حضرات بھی خوب مٹھائیاں اور کپڑے بٹورتے ہیں خاص طور پر ایسے لوگوں کی حوصلہ افزائی کرکے۔ کبھی یہ نہیں پوچھیں گے کہ بھئ تم ہٹے کٹے ہوخود بھی کماؤ اور دوسروں کو بھی کھلاؤ۔ گھر میں ماں باپ بہن بھائیوں کوشاید تمھاری ضرورت تونہیں ہے۔ تعلیم مکمل ہو چکی ہے۔ پڑوس میں کوئی بیمار بھوکا تو نہیںچھوڑ آئے۔ لیکن اگر ہمارے دینی حضرات اتنے باشعور ہو گئے تو بے چاروں کے نفلی کاروبارکیسے چلیں گے ماشاءالله محنت کی تو عادت ہوتی نہیں ہے کچھہ سیھکنے سکھانے میں دل نہیں لگتا۔
So this is my baba, he is like that, always prefer to earn Allah’s blessings than to sit and collect them for free. He didn’t only extinguished the fire using his hands and saved the whole premises from being burned but also saved himself from the Hell-Fire. Great man like his name.
Now here comes the religious people of Pakistan whose whole sole goal is to seek reasons for free blessings. No maulvi guides the youngsters to avoid ITIKAAF and focus on the obligations. They don’t even explain the people about the differences between obligations and extra-worshiping in Islam. Especially the situation we are facing since last ten years, young boys and men have no right to sit in Itikaaf. Children, our future, is rolling on the street like dust. They need to be provided with food, clothing and shelter. This is Fard upon us. This Fard is more valuable than any nafil ibadah; be it Shab-e-Mi’raaj, Shab-e-Bara’at or Itikaaf in Ramadan. Even greater than those regular-yearly umrah and hajj. Even Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon himi) performed only one hajj in his lifetime.
And our well-off, educated people donate, hmmm, no not only donate but give food, sweets and new suits to these maulvis as a gift of Ramadan. For the sake of this ummah, stop this business. Don’t try to please each other with this non-sense. Try to please God with real act of virtue. Give food and money to those who need them so on the Day of Judgment they won’t be holding our necks. All educated and I mean “EDUCATED” people should educate each other about this.
“Istikhara” is an interesting and famous hobby in Pakistan, especially among the religious people. I have seen many ads of people who do istikhara for others and have seen many famous programs on television. I went through many sites to know when exactly istikhara should be done, how does it work and then how to respond the sign of istikhara. They all say almost the same thing; istikhara is done to seek a guidance from Allah (SWT) in certain matters whether the decision is good or bad etc. I couldn’t find the detail about exactly how many times did the Prophet (peace be upon him) made istikhara in his lifetime? Did he do istikhara every time he married? Did he seek Allah’s guidance through istikhara when he put Hazrat Fatimah into marriage with Ali? or before any gazawas?
I never denied istikhara and I know it is sunnah. I do believe in it but don’t enjoy it like a leisure time activity. What I think of istikhara and as this pious person I consulted last night said that it is a satisfaction of heart. When your heart is satisfied on something to do it or not, that is istikhara and the best istikhara is when a person does it him/herself. So many methods are suggested by scholars and whichever suits you works for you, such as salatul-istakhara, invocation or just a verbal communication with God. Most commonly, a sign comes in your dreams according to you what satisfies your heart.
There is an ayah of Qur’an that says, “It is part of the Mercy of Allah that thou dost deal gently with them Wert thou severe or harsh-hearted, they would have broken away from about thee: so pass over (Their faults), and ask for ((Allah)’s) forgiveness for them; and consult them in affairs (of moment). Then, when thou hast Taken a decision, put thy trust in Allah. For Allah loves those who put their trust (in Him)..of .. If Allah helps you, none can overcome you: If He forsakes you, who is there, after that, that can help you? in Allah, then, Let believers put their trust.” (Surah Aal-e-Imran, ayah 159-160)
In Pakistan, the point is not how it is done, here what important is when and why it is done?
WHEN? It is done at the time of deciding for proposals/marriages especially when the mothers of both or either side don’t agree, deciding to settle down back in Pakistan etc. It is never done when leaving Pakistan for any reason or when the mothers of both sides agree disregarding the choice of their beloved.
WHY? Here it is not done to seek guidance from God, Istikhara is used as an excuse for something that heart has already rejected….so that may be due to that dua of istikhara God Almighty would shower His mercy and send a sign of their own desire.
And how would anyone feel when hearing a very religious person, the one who has also memorized Qur’an, saying that sometimes it happens that in istikhara, one party gets the sign of Yes and the other one gets a No? Isn’t it like blaming God Almighty for creating confusions among people. While in the Qur’an, God says, ” Allah intends every facility for you; He does not want to put to difficulties“ (Surah Al-Baqarah 185)….and didn’t Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “make things easy for people and not difficult”.
“Istikhara” is derived from the root letters Kha, Ya, Ra (making the word khair in Arabic, bhalai in Urdu and goodness in English). (Correct me if I’m wrong)……So if it is a source to get a sign from God that He wants you to do something or not, the best procedure is given up there, “after consultation or the necessary inquiries, make a decision and then put your trust in Allah.

“By the (Winds) sent forth one after another (to man’s profit); Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, And scatter (things) far and wide; Then separate them, one from another, Then spread abroad a Message, Whether of Justification or of Warning;- Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass.”

Allah creates these disasters to show us how insecure our habitation can sometimes be. These outbursts of nature are reminders to all mankind that we have no control whatsoever over the planet. Likewise, each disaster serves the purpose of reminding us of our inherent weakness. Need for a religion, interference of religion in everything, is religion contrary to life/normal life?….I was also bothered with these questions and I still do.
I observed two kind of people…first the ones who get disappointed in God, as a result either they stop believing in Him OR they start doubting in His Books and Prophets’ teachings and turn to their fellow-human beings for help and this is what they call the true concept of humanity, all their efforts are then paid to find some new ideals to work for peace and justice…………..second are the ones who lose their hopes in the people around and seek refuge in God, they usually result in either total disassociation from normal life and people and they focus in worshiping God and give good advice to the people, like Sufis…just you be good and that is enough….or they join a group and dedicated themselves to it. Very few from this category try to assess what has happened, take a stand to change the system. They study the Books and Prophets of God and try to find the truth and the way to serve humanity in a proper manner.
“Cheating”…The one biggest moral and personality defect commonly found and unanimously diagnosed by the world as our “NATIONAL ATTITUDE”.
I appreciate government’s action (who care about their intention) to block facebook in Pakistan as to show our stand towards guarding the honour and dignity of our Prophet (peace be upon him) on behalf of the vast Muslim majority of Pakistan. The minorities of Pakistan shouldn’t have any problem with that because as a rule of democracy “majority rules”. It’s same like just happened in some European countries. The majority decided to ban Islamic covering in public and since Muslims are the minority, they have to obey the law otherwise they will be punished and can be insulted at public places by any individual. And they claim and we believe that they are not extremists and are very tolerant. Pakistan is much better than these so-called developed, democratic countries who claim that they are civilized. At least we don’t pick the minorities to insult them in public.
Facebook is not the end of the world. We abandon it for our exams, we don’t use it for days for the reason of being exhausted of too much or business affairs, family matters, sickness, etc. Why can’t we just obey this law for one or few days for the reason to show our love to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)? This is the least we can do for him.
Why cheating and find links to use facebook when it is ordained by the government? Even if non-Muslim do that, it will be called cheating because each and every citizen must obey the law set by majority, regardless of their faith.
It hurts more when educated people do that.
“TOLERANCE”, I have an issue with this word and how frequently we use it. Tolerating each other, does it sound like a “peaceful society and people living in harmony” we are talking about. To me it’s like a place where people are forcing themselves to live with each other for the sake of some benefits. Including my own family, what I have observed in my neighbourhood, in various religious parties, different groups, at local, national and international level that all we are doing right now is tolerating each other. Nobody really seems happy with the other person, the other party, the other group, the government, the system….why is that so? We tolerate what/who we don’t like and still want to use it/them. We tolerate when there is a threat. We are living in an environment of a threat. There is a limit for everything, even tolerance can not be practiced for a very long time. What happens then, too much patience breaks into a fight or a war.
Expecting too much tolerance from one side while not holding the other one for an accountability promotes injustice and lack of trust. That usually results in form of disobedience (of any kind) or disassociation and encourages people to take law into their hands.
Why creating a situation in which an individual, a group or a nation has to show an extreme tolerance to prove that they are not extremists? For me, that creator of such situation should be brought to justice with an allegation of wrong use of personal freedom, causing hatred, provoking someone or a group to react violently, thus becoming a threat to the world peace.
The way our religious scholars explain Islamic terms is usually not easy for common people like me to learn and understand. So for my own understanding, I try to take examples from my surroundings.
They say that a Muslim is someone who declares Shahadah and performs religious duties as prescribed in Shari’ah. People observe him as a good Muslim while inside his heart, he might be a hypocrite. A Mu’min is someone who declares Shahadah and performs all the religious duties in such a way that people not only witness him as a good Muslim but a good human being.
According to me, a Muslim is a person who hides the mess in the closets and drawers (intentionally or unintentionally) so the house appears neat and clean to the visitors. While a Mu’min is a person who not only keeps the house tidy for others to appreciate the effort but also organizes the things inside the closet and drawers to satisfy his/her own aesthetic sense. It means that Ammi is a Mu’min and I am a Muslim.
What I understood from their definition is that a Muslim may or may not be a selfish person and usually is good to his/her community. While a Mu’min would be sincere and honest to everyone and everything in all situations.
And what I learned from my own definition is that a Muslim is like a person who works to satisfy others, and waits for them to approve his/her actions. While a Mu’min is like a person who performs his/her duties with full consciousness and inner satisfaction whether others approve the actions or not.
Not a big difference between the two explanations except the way they are explained.
