4.16% for God Almighty…

“The believers, men and women, are protecting friends of one another; they enjoin good and forbid evil, and they establish Salah, and give Zakah, and obey Allah and His Messenger.  Allah will have His Mercy on them, and surely, Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.”  (Al-Qur’an, Surah At-Taubah/The Repentence…71)

“Seek help through patience and Salah; truly it is extremely difficult except for the humble true believers.” (Surah Al-Baqarah/The Cow  45)

“Shaytaan (Satan) desires only to excite enmity and hatred between you with intoxicants and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of Allah, and from Salah.  So will you then not abstain (from these evils)?”  (Surah Al-Maidah/The Tablespread 91)

“Verily, the hypocrites seek to deceive Allah, but it is He who deceives them; when they stand up for Salah, they stand with laziness, only to be seen by men; and they do not remember Allah but a little.” (Surah An-Nisa/The Women 142)

“Recite that which has been revealed to you of the Book, and perform Salah.  Verily, Salah prevents from lewdness and evils.  And indeed, the remembrance of Allah (by you) is greatest.  And Allah knows what you do.”  (Surah An-Ankaboot/The Spiderweb 45)

Salah is an Arabic word for a particular form of prayer (namaz in Urdu), in which Muslims concentrate on or communicate Allah (commonly five times a day).

How much time does it take to perform salah?

Majority of us usually offer twenty four rakaat in twenty four hours (a day) and that requires more or less 40 to 60 minutes per day;

2 sunnah 2 fard for Salatul-Fajr take 10 minutes

4 fard for Salatuz-Zhur take 5 minutes

4 fard for Salatul-Asr take 5 minutes

3 fard 2 sunnah for Salatul-Maghrib take 10 minutes

4 fard 3 witr for Salatul-Isha take 10 minutes

The total time for 8760 rakaat can be accumulated to  365 out of 8760 hours or in minutes, 21900 out of 525600 minutes per year.  In percentage, only 4.16% of the time is required to perform this most important pillar of Islam after Shahadah.

How many of us do really care about standing before our Lord for such a little time and gain millions of benefits?  Otherwise, why do we complain about the calamities and disasters we are facing?
