Pakistan, Grow and Glow

The saddest thing that I feel about myself being a Karachiite is that I am misunderstood by the majority of people belong to other provinces.  Why do they think of us as “the enemies of Islam, the American and Indian agents who are involved in the killing of civilians in Northern Areas plus support American drone/missile attacks”?  Why do they count each and every Karachiite as a worker of MQM?

There could be two reasons for this perception.

First, people of Karachi don’t have a frequent and easy access to Northern Areas and Balochistan.  Once in a while they visit those places for a summer or winter trip.  That provides local residents a good business if they understand.  But their leaders have closed the doors for Karachiites.  The only voice that reaches them from Karachi is of Altaf Hussain and that is like a political diary, reminding nation the killing of their workers.

Or whatever they hear from their family members living in Karachi.  Most of them compare the life in Karachi with their rocky lands.  They complain about their miseries and the hard work they do but they never try to change their lives, don’t want to learn, don’t acquire education.  So the choices they are left with to run a road-side hotel, be a security guard or a driver, to sell fruits and dry fruits, to carry cement bags and bricks on their backs, to dig the roads or to sell smuggled fabric.  They should be thankful to Karachiites that they still get business from them.  Just last week  I met a young rickshaw driver and he told me that while attempting the exams for Ninth Grade, he didn’t even know  how to get to the center and what to write in subject.  He seemed proud that he passed the matric but kind of complaining that he is driving rickshaw.

Second, they believe in their racist leaders.  They live in Karachi but never realize that they have more freedom and more opportunities than Urdu speaking people.  Thousands of Pathans and Balochis come here, live here, earn their livelihood and make money to support their families back in their provinces.  What’s with seizing the lands and properties in Karachi?  Why the wrong way?  They have lost their homes, their properties, their lands to Afghanis and Indian agents.  May be this is how they feel the pain, when others come and take away your belonging, kill you and cause you to leave your birthplaces.

The truth is that that people of Pakistan believe more in what politicians say.  They let politicians drive them crazy.  Balochis, Punjabis, Pathans, Sindhis and Urdu speaking…they all need each other.  They can be good friends of each other, not Americans or Indians or Afghanis.  God knows, they won’t helps us, never.  They want to turn Pakistan into Iraq or Kashmir or Palestine.  Why provide them with reasons?  They are using politicians and many religious groups to divide us, to create hatred and fear.  We don’t need to fear each other.  We know our leaders are corrupt, then why do we listen to them?

Not all Karachiites are MQM.  They don’t want to lose their businesses and industries to Indians.  They don’t hate Pathans, Balochis, Punjabis and Sindhis.  They are hard working people as well.  They want to work together.  They are also against American drone and missile attacks.

Let’s not take away life from each other, or the land or the property.  We all have lost a lot.  Let’s reduce the fear and give each other a chance to grow and glow.

Oh no , we really do not think every one in Karachi is worker of MQM , if it were the case Karachi could become the worst on earth.
Karachiats are loving and caring people .

  2. بلوچ says:

Nopes we just hate Pakistan , Pakistani establishment and Pakistani Identity , and all this is due to atrocities of Pakistan for last 63 years.

    • Rubik says:

Pakistan is just a piece of land. It belongs to the people of Pakistan but people never owned it. They stood behind their politicians and let them fool us all. Why do then hate Pakistan? Why not our leaders? Why not ourselves for being so ignorant, negligent and irresponsible? It you still insist on what you just said, then all I can say is May Allah Bless Pakistan and Pakistanis. Ameen!

  3. بلوچ says:

madam countries and nations are not named only as piece of land . This land was named as India , Became Pakistan and who knows what will be the name of the land tomorrow. Once it was India than became east Pakistan , and today it is Bengladesh . So please try to redefine it .

    • Rubik says:

Okay, so it means people should keep dividing lands, break countries in the name of caste, creed, language….keep loosing their strength by limiting themselves to a small particular area instead of trying to grow as a nation. Then after freedom fight when reduced to the size of a state, city or a town, they get ready to become colonies of strong countries. Then those strong countries will start using them and oppressing them in exchange of basic provisions. Then they fall into drug and prostitution. Then again, the freedom fight begins against those oppressors. Every time, politicians enjoy everything, their children celebrate the throne generation after generation. But people don’t get anything except for more and more and more humiliation at every step.

If this is anyone’s philosophy of love to their tribes and clans, then Good Luck to this world. We have already headed towards an enormous blood shed. All countries are in a state of war and fear.

You are right before it was India, before India must have been something else. Even Ka’abah will be destroyed one day (as according to a hadith). Huge disasters are waiting to occur (according to scientific predictions) so who knows what’s gonna happen tomorrow. So let’s just hate, fight, kill, divide, snatch….

  4. بلوچ says:

Can you teach this lesson to your elite , the rulers , the military , the establishment ? If your national interest justify that to strengthen your nation you got license to kill and dump the generations of other nations ? You got heavenly rights to oppress and enslave others ?
What about the Pakistan today , just go to main roads of your city you will find huge number of drug addicts and for prostitution I think Pakistan developed a quite profitable industry and no one else need to penetrate in this regard .

    • Rubik says:

Together we can teach this lesson a better way to them all.
I don’t know any elite or ruler. I don’t have anyone in military or the establishment. That makes me a common Pakistani and I am really proud of it. Proud of me living in Pakistan with the sincerity in my heart towards everyone, no discrimination, no hatred for common people. I am a proud Pakistani who travel on the streets and roads of Pakistan, talk to people about national issues, try to wake them up to join hands against the oppressors. They ignore me, avoid me, make fun of me. All of them, Punjabis, Sindhis, Pathans, Urdu speaking. But I don’t care. I don’t hate them.
I know what’s happening around. I also suffer like others. But I have taken oath for these people living in four provinces. I would rather die defending Pakistan like this instead of spreading negativity. Because I know that will make my people weaker against the establishment and politicians.

The only thing that hurts me the most is when anybody (even in my family and relative) use the word Pakistan for blaming the ones (that includes elite, rulers, generals, establishment, maulvis or even common people) who have proven they are not Pakistanis. When I have to blame for my suffering, I be specific and mention those names. Be it Asif Ali Zardari, Nawaz Sharif, Altaf Hussain, Shahi Syed, Musharraf or any other animals. I hate them, not Pakistan.
Then why taking revenge from Pakistan for the crimes done by these ignorant? Why can’t we become one force and kick them out? It just happened in Egypt.

Whatever Pakistan is today is because of our own negligence and irresponsible behaviour. We don’t stand up for each other.
All I know as a common person is that by isolating ourselves we are only helping our enemies. This is what they are waiting for that we decide on our own to disassociate from each other.

  5. بلوچ says:

To name whom ? From Jinnah to Zardari we are facing the same situation . First operation against Baloch nation was ordered by Mr.Jinnah and till date its going on .
I am complaining every thing the rulers ( both military and political) , the constitution , the media , and just helpless people.
Against Baloch all the Pakistan seems to stand in same row. Name only one factor of the state which ever stood beside our fair demands of survival ?

    • Rubik says:

Well, if you have already made up your mind then any explanation will be useless. In that case, if you are standing up as Balochis then all my sympathies and the due respect will be with you guys. If you ever think of presenting yourselves as Pakistanis, then certainly you all automatically share my prayers, my struggle, my love and my passion to save Pakistan from the oppressors and elected dictators.

  6. بلوچ says:

Well how to present ourselves as Pakistani ? when we are killed , our women are raped , our youth are abducted in thousands on the name of Pakistan ? If we are living at the time of Yazeed , if we do not endorse him there must be a Karbala ? If it is so than Alhamdolillah we will fight and die .

    • Rubik says:

My answer is “by not isolating ourselves to our provinces”. Like for Karachiites, I condemn it when they call themselves Mahajir. My generation is not Mahajir. We are Pakistanis. We were born in Karachi, Pakistan.
Again, if people start abusing me in the name of Allah and Rasool, should I hate them or Allah and Rasool? Same way, whatever is happening in Baloschistan is happening in other parts of the country too. They also have same complaints. They also claim facing Yazeed in their territories. They are also determined to fight and die.
If “YAZEED” is the term we all are using to describe our oppressors and if we think we all are challenged by one yazeedi force, then wouldn’t it be better if we fight against it all together? And why die bhaee? Why not fight together and be victorious?

  7. بلوچ says:

Well I do not know about others , but we are facing the Yazeed and we are fighting against . We know we are very few and very weak in arms and army both , but Karbala of Balochistan will definitely turn the course of history of the region.

    • Rubik says:

This is the main problem brother. I don’t know about you. You don’t know about others. Others don’t know about you and me. We all sound like we don’t want to know about each other. We all think that we are weak yet have satisfied our minds at “fighting and dieing” for the honour of our piece of little land.

This is the message we keep sending to our enemies and they welcome it, keep torturing and killing us. They love to kill us because we want to die. We are not willing to defeat them. Instead we just keep promising them and our children the continuation of bloodshed.

Why can’t we come together, try to solve the issues and save our generations from “fighting and killing”?

  8. بلوچ says:

We do not need any enemy abroad , we got an army of 700,000 men , well equipped and well trained , they are the worst ever enemy of us .
One who kills us , abducts our youth , rape our women we do not consider him as our friend , so the Pakistan army is doing in Balochistan and we are fighting against this nuclear monster . We are left with no choice but to fight , so we are doing .
