A tribute to whales, sharks and dolphins

Everything that Allah (SWT) has created is nature and we, humans, are an essential part of it.  Living organisms or non-living objects, we all bear same characteristics and that is why we should respect each other.  Nature is not only love, it is revengeful too and reacts with an equal magnitude.

When people and nature battle with each other, that’s their fight, God does not interfere and invisible creations just play audience.

Whales, sharks and dolphins, found on the beaches of Karachi and Baluchistan, are neither fish nor women, but still were treated like females all around the world.  Men found them dead, men pulled them out, men stood around them, men climbed on them for photo session, men sold them, men bought them, men will cut them into pieces and then everyone will enjoy the feast.  This is the tradition.

Such a huge, beautiful, lovely mammals are found dead on Karachi beaches.  This is good for them though, better than reaching alive and pulled and teased by the energetic, daring children of Karachi.

Although animals are not just animals but, after all, they are animals.  They can be unfortunate.  They can be lost.  They can be the victims of man’s negligence.  This is how they reach our beaches, I think.

Why are the people of Karachi so negligent about their beaches and their waters and the magnificent creatures under water?

Whales, sharks, dolphins are natural resources.  They are our food.  They are our medicine.  They are the beauty of our waters.  They are precious and priceless, palatable pleasing presents presented to us by powerful nature.  So we should adopt a grateful attitude toward them.

Have we not learned any lesson from all the disasters that we have witnessed in last few years?  Humans were buried alive under the heap of soil, were smashed under rocks, were drowned in muddy flood-water, were stung by mosquitoes (that reminds me of the story of King Nimrod who was killed by a mosquito).  For God’s sake, just once, make nature be proud of us.
